Here’s some viral inspiration…

The latest viral video can be more than just a good laugh or share. It can be the inspiration you need to keep pursuing your entrepreneurial dreams. Here are a few that may inspire you.eÀÚ÷gãè!§Éh®…®zÂp^Üùkq

The American Ninja T-Rex. American Ninja is a popular reality television obstacle course for the insanely fit. One contestant did the course in an inflatable T-Rex suit. It’s a fun watch. The announcer’s puns are on point and watching the contestant tackle the course in the suit is awesome – but there is a great lesson to be learned for entrepreneurs. When you choose to pursue your entrepreneurial dreams, it’s like doing the obstacle course in a T-Rex suit. You work and prepare twice as hard as everyone else. It’s a lot harder to navigate but you are rewarded for your individuality and perseverance. Be unique and willing to work for your dreams, even if that means climbing a wall in a T-Rex suit!

Another great viral lesson can be found in this hilariously cute but gross video. After her successful audition, a young contestant on So You Think You Can Dance threw up on international star and judge Paula Abdul. We all know that for children excitement can lead to explosions of fluid and Paula was very kind to the poor girl. But the best part comes later. When the girl was asked to share what happened, she replied that Paula squeezed her too tight and the happiness came out. The lesson here is great. As an entrepreneur you are bound to make mistakes in your enthusiasm to succeed – but instead of getting upset about it, choose to look at the positive side of things like this young girl did. Her excitement didn’t waver. Instead she recognized that she had to move forward from an embarrassing situation in a positive way… and she did.

So the next time you get caught in a YouTube wormhole, don’t fret. There are valuable lessons that can be learned from your favorite viral videos and they are a great stress relief! Apply what you see to your life because as an entrepreneur you can learn from anything!

Your Biggest Investment? You!

When you start a business, you spend most of your time attending to its growth. As an entrepreneur you don’t get to turn your business off. It’s going 24/7. That can be very daunting and stressful. So don’t forget to pay attention to your biggest investment: YOURSELF!33309549_S

Your business can’t succeed without you. You are the brains, the brawn and the passion that keeps your business going. If you aren’t up to the task, your business will suffer. So what can do you to protect your most important investment?

Keep healthy. Keeping your body healthy is important. You don’t have time for sick days, and you can’t afford expensive health care costs. So keep active and eat healthy. Set time aside each day for exercise. Schedule meal breaks so that you have the time to prepare a healthy meal and don’t succumb to fast food temptations.

Make your relationships a priority. Running your own business drastically changes your working hours. Rather than having a steady, predictable schedule, you have one that might be described as, well, insane. This can have a negative effect on your relationships. As you set aside time to exercise, go ahead and set aside time for the most important people in your life. Make it a priority to have unplugged times where you can focus on your relationships without worrying about work.

Groom your investor. You always want to keep your biggest investor happy. So your job is to keep yourself happy. Whatever it is that makes you smile, don’t let it fall by the wayside. Even if you have to cut back on favorite activities, still make it a point to do them. A little self love will go a long way toward protecting your business.

Remember that no one knows how much work and effort it takes to run your business like you do. So treat yourself like the most important investment in your company. When you do you’ll find that your business is ready to succeed!

The Bad Day Cure

The Bad Day CureEver had one of those days where it seems like the whole world is conspiring against you? One of those “your boss wasn’t pleased with something again, the dog made a mess on the carpet, you were stuck in traffic, and then you burned dinner” kind of days. They happen to all of us every once in a while. What lifts you up on those low days – maybe a glass of wine, an invigorating run, a Netflix binge at home or a reminder that someone cares for you?

While the first three options are great, nothing is as cheering as a reminder that you are loved and appreciated. Kindness. It’s a small act that can have enormous benefits. Simple reminders of love can lift us up for longer than the endorphins from exercise or the thrill of a good binge watch. That’s why we love the idea of following through on a prompting to reach out and show love – because a simple, thoughtful gesture can do great things.

So the next time you have a bad day, step outside of yourself. Do something kind for someone else, like sending a quick card or gift to show your love. A few words of encouragement, a rich chocolate brownie, an inspirational book, a thoughtful token: Such a gesture will send cheer to someone else and cheer you up as well. Research has shown that not only does an act of kindness reduce stress for the recipient, but it also reduces stress for the giver. So if you want to cure your bad day, do something nice for someone else.

Make your child’s lunchbox more interesting with these tips!

14683894 - shot of a packed lunch for child shot in studioLet’s be honest… few people have time to make themed sandwiches for their child’s lunchbox. It is cute and fun, but most of us are focused on getting everyone out the door with something to eat rather than on crafting an Angry Bird sandwich. But packing a lunch doesn’t have to mean sending your kids on their way with a collection of junk food either! If you are looking for ways to up your child’s lunch game without upping your stress, keep reading for some great tips!

Think variety. Give your children options! Instead of getting one box of fruit snacks, get a few different flavors. Stock up on assorted fresh fruits and veggies, variety packs of chips, even a sampling of jams to switch up the normal PB&J! They may not feel like eating an apple but would love a banana, so let them pick their variation for the day.

Challenge the norm. Be different from time to time! Throw in some leftover pizza. How about a delicious sandwich made of leftover pot roast? And who said lunch has to include a sandwich? Try pretzels with a container of peanut butter for dipping. Take it to the next level and send raisins and chocolate chips to dip the pretzels in. How about cubes of cheese and meat with crackers? Think of their favorite foods, and build a lunch around those.

And remember to nurture their thoughts and feelings as well as their stomachs.

Write a note. Jot an encouraging word or two on a piece of paper and stick it in the lunch box. If there is a big test they are nervous about or soccer tryouts after school, let them know you are thinking of them and wish them well! A simple “Have a great day! -Love, Mom (or Dad)” will go such a long way! Here are some free printables you can use when in a time crunch! Be sure to tone it down a bit for the older kids… you don’t want to embarrass them!

Draw a picture. Using a marker and an empty sandwich bag, draw a fun pic or design on the outside of the bag! It really makes whatever is inside look fancy! Draw their favorite character and a cute saying, such as a Yoda with the phrase “Eat all your lunch, you must!”

Getting them to consume their lunch is the important part. Pack things you know they will eat and don’t be afraid to throw in some creativity from time to time. You may never have time for shaped mini-sandwiches or homemade XOXOX chips, but if you pack it with love, that is all that matters!
